And thus ends Synchronized Seasoning, not with a bang or a whimper, but a mostly improvised and very comped guitar solo, both of which made it damn hard to mimic for the video. Hey, I did my best.
This tune is now available along with the rest on bandcamp, YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
None really. It’s a pretty simple tune with simple chords, though like some of the others on this album, the string-to-string major 3rd instead of 4th jump is between the D and G rather than the G and B strings. So basically it’s like a 6-string tuned down to B standard (though a half step down), with an extra higher string. This means the 1st chord is a typical C shape, but with the root on the 3rd fret of the E string, leaving the higher pitch strings open for extending the chords, adding different flavors and melodic stuff.
Destination
Oscillation
Stuck spinning on the wheels
When did this get real
Formation
Impersonation
Kept circling the field
Now slow travel revealed
Kept falling back each step when up again
Time is not some medicine
Felt like the same roads
It was a cycle there
Obscures and hides slow trends
Recurring strife mechanical ends
Heal
Alternating hardened and annealed
Undulations
Constellations
Stuck spinning in the sky
One day they will die
Rotation
Congratulation
Not moving quite the same
Translate to a new frame
Fooled to think this song’s parts repeat endlessly
Nothing has eternity
Felt like the same roads
It was a cycle there
Obscures and hides slow trends
Recurring strife mechanical ends
Doom
Easily forgotten in an afternoon
Soon
Another to be left unnoticed waiting in a giant room
Waiting in a giant room
Bounce along a kind of chaotic path
Highs and lows damp out as we grow old
We count all the days we passed the star
Making believe we’ll have another turn
So many chances left to learn
Bob up and down now
Joe side to side
Destined to likely be
Another unknown cyclic escapee
